Here's your chance to get an original AF/X early funny car for cheap. It's old and rough but all there and real. I don't know if the engine is good or not so count on NOT and then be happy if it is. The 440 in it now has single four barrel. It's the cool early Weiand that has "Say Why And" in the casting. I also bought vintage Weiend timing cover to run injection again. I bought some really nice original Ansen 15x10 in the correct pattern to go on the back. 5 skinny Ansen wheels up front and stock steelies in the back. and you end up getting a date with my old neighbors daughter. Who knows? It's got a clear title and you could drive it on the street. I have not been able to find out the history on this car. It's the same year and model as Dick Landy's famous altered car. and the one piece fiberglass front end where the ticket to reaching for the sky and the reason I bought the car. That engine was replaced over the years with a 440 and 727 that still sit way back in the firewall today. I'm told that the powerplant was a 426 hemi with Hilborn injection. I was told the car ran one year as a 65 model and the next year they replaced the one piece fiberglass front end with a 1966 version and ran it as "new" once again. ![]() This car has been an altered wheelbase drag car since 1965. and I blew it with his daughter and this is as far as I got to having a wheelie car. ![]() I was determined to someday have a car that would do a wheelie. but I felt no such jolt because I was now riding on a cushion of my own warm. only to lift slightly a second time as our speed continued to climb. I'm sure there was quite a jolt as the front wheels touched down. The digital dash was showing 55MPH in big green numbers before the front end dropped enough for me to see the road. The rear bumper dragged the pavement as the front wheels pulled several feet off the ground. It was my first experience with line lock. There was a lot of engine noise but the old truck never moved. Then he stared at me and said "I know you don't get it yet. He looked both ways for traffic and creeped out onto that highway. the big block loped angrily with a massive cam. ![]() We idled out onto the state road in front of the shop. I couldn't understand how it could be his favorite out of all of these cars. I asked him what his favorite one was and pointed to a prostreet 80's Chevy pickup truck. he showed me his amazing collection of old cars. he had brought me here to murder me over my interest in his daughter. The place was empty on this particular day and it occurred to me that. He invited me out to his business in a nearby town. I wasted no time making a fool of myself for her and I was under the watchful eye of her father the whole time. The folks across the street came over and had the common courtesy to bring their super hot daughter. my parents moved into a very nice neighborhood and had an open house.
